XML Formatter & Minifier — free online

You open an XML file and it's all on one line, or the indentation is a mess and you can't tell where anything begins or ends. Reading it like that is painful, and you can't even be sure it's valid. We added a free tool that handles it — XML Formatter & Minifier — right in your browser.

What it does

Paste your XML and it lays it out with clean, readable indentation, or squeezes it down to a single line if you need it small. While it works, it also tells you right away whether your XML is well-formed, so you catch a missing tag before it causes trouble.

Nothing leaves your device

Everything happens in your browser. Your XML is never uploaded to a server and nothing is saved anywhere. When you close the tab, it's gone — which makes it safe for files you'd rather keep to yourself.

How to use it

  1. Open XML Formatter & Minifier and paste your XML into the box.
  2. Choose to format it neatly or minify it to one line.
  3. Copy the result and use it wherever you need.

It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
