Search Box Schema Generator — free online

If your website has a search feature, you can tell Google about it. When you do, Google can add a little search box right under your site in the results, so people can search you straight from there. Writing that code by hand is fiddly. We added a free tool that does it for you — Search Box Schema — right in your browser.

What it does

It builds the WebSite JSON-LD markup with a SearchAction. That's the snippet that tells Google your site has a search feature and turns on the sitelinks search box in the results. You fill in your details, and the tool writes the code, ready to drop into your page.

Nothing leaves your device

Everything runs in your browser. Your site address and the rest of what you type stay on your computer. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is saved on a server. Close the tab and it's gone.

How to use it

  1. Open Search Box Schema and type in your site address and your search link.
  2. Let the tool build the JSON-LD code for you.
  3. Copy it and paste it into the <head> of your page.

It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
