Value vs Effort Matrix — free online

You have a long list of things to do, and they all feel urgent. But some give you a lot back for very little work, and others eat your whole week for almost nothing. The hard part is seeing which is which. We added a free tool that lays it out for you — Value vs Effort Matrix — right in your browser.

What it does

You add your tasks, then rate each one for value and for effort. The tool places them on a simple grid, so you can instantly see which are quick wins, which are big projects worth planning for, and which are time-sinks you may want to drop.

Nothing leaves your device

Everything runs inside your browser. Your task list isn't uploaded anywhere and nothing is saved on a server. When you close the page, it's gone — it stays on your own computer.

How to use it

  1. Open Value vs Effort Matrix and add your tasks, one by one.
  2. Give each task a value rating and an effort rating.
  3. Read the grid to see your quick wins, and start with those.

It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
