Roman Numeral Converter — free online

You spot a year on a clock face or a movie credit, and suddenly you're stuck doing math with letters. Or you need to write a chapter number the proper way and can't remember if four is IV or IIII. We added a small tool that handles both directions for you — Roman Numeral Converter — right in your browser.

What it does

Type a normal number and it shows you the Roman numeral. Type a Roman numeral and it gives you the plain number back. It works both ways and shows the result the moment you type, so there's no button to hunt for.

Nothing leaves your device

The whole thing runs inside your browser. Whatever you type stays on your screen — nothing is sent to a server, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is saved anywhere. Close the tab and it's gone.

How to use it

  1. Open Roman Numeral Converter.
  2. Type a number to get the Roman numeral, or type a Roman numeral to get the number.
  3. Copy the result and use it wherever you need it.

It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
