README Generator — free online tool
You finished a project, pushed it to GitHub, and the page just sits there with no README. Writing one from scratch always feels like a chore, so it gets skipped. We added a free tool that does it for you — README Generator — right in your browser.
What it does
You fill in a few fields about your project and get a polished README.md back, with a live preview so you can see how it will look as you type. When it reads right, you copy the text or download the file.
Nothing leaves your device
Everything runs inside your browser. What you type stays on your screen — nothing is uploaded to a server and nothing is saved anywhere. Close the tab and it's gone.
How to use it
- Open README Generator and fill in the fields about your project.
- Watch the live preview update and tweak the text until it reads the way you want.
- Copy the README or download the file and drop it into your project.
It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
