Number Lines — free online list numberer
You paste a list somewhere and then you have to number it by hand: 1, 2, 3... and if you add a line in the middle, the whole count is off. We added a free tool that does it for you — Number Lines — right in your browser.
What it does
Paste any list and it instantly puts a number in front of every line. You pick the format, set a custom starting number and a step (for example start at 0, or count up by 5), and the numbering follows along. When it looks right, you copy the result.
Nothing leaves your device
The whole thing runs in your browser. Your text is never uploaded and never saved anywhere — close the tab and it's gone. It works the same offline.
How to use it
- Open Number Lines and paste your list into the box.
- Pick a format and, if you want, set a custom start and step.
- Copy the numbered result and use it wherever you need.
