MIME Type Lookup — free online tool
You're setting up a server, an upload form, or an email, and it asks for the file's MIME type. You know the file is a .webp or a .woff2, but the exact type string? That's the part nobody remembers. We added a free tool that handles it — MIME Type Lookup — right in your browser.
What it does
Type in any file extension (like webp, json, pdf, or woff2) and it tells you the matching MIME type. It also works the other way around: paste a MIME type and it shows you the extensions that go with it. Quick lookups, both directions, no guessing.
Nothing leaves your device
The whole thing runs in your browser. Whatever you type stays on your screen — nothing is uploaded to a server and nothing is saved anywhere. When you close the tab, it's gone.
How to use it
- Open MIME Type Lookup.
- Type a file extension, or paste a MIME type for the reverse lookup.
- Read the result and copy it where you need it.
It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
