Meta Description Length Checker — free online
You write a nice meta description for a page, and then Google quietly cuts it off mid-sentence. The problem is that Google measures the snippet by pixel width, not by the number of characters, so counting letters in your head never quite works. We added a free tool that handles it for you — Meta Description Length Checker — right in your browser.
What it does
Paste your meta description and it shows the character count and the real pixel width, both checked against Google's limits. There's a live preview so you can see exactly where the snippet would get cut, which makes it easy to trim a few words until the whole thing fits.
Nothing leaves your device
Everything runs in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, saved, or sent anywhere. You can close the tab and nothing stays behind.
How to use it
- Open Meta Description Length Checker.
- Paste your meta description into the box.
- Watch the count, pixel width, and preview, then adjust until it fits and copy the result.
It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
