JSON Diff — compare two JSON files free online

You have two versions of a JSON file and you just need to know what's different. Reading them line by line is slow, and a small change is easy to miss. We added a free tool that does it for you — JSON Diff / Compare — right in your browser.

What it does

Paste two JSON documents and it shows you exactly what changed: keys that were added, removed, or have a different value. The result is colour-coded so the changes jump out, and it counts them for you. The comparison is order-independent, so keys in a different order won't be flagged as a change when the data is really the same.

Nothing leaves your device

The whole thing runs inside your browser. Your JSON is never uploaded to a server and nothing is saved anywhere. When you close the tab, it's gone. So even config files or data with private details are safe to paste in.

How to use it

  1. Open JSON Diff / Compare and paste your first JSON on one side.
  2. Paste the second JSON on the other side.
  3. Read the colour-coded result to see every added, removed, and changed key, with the counts.

It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
