COGS Calculator — free online tool

If you sell things, you have probably needed to know your cost of goods sold at some point, and ended up squinting at a spreadsheet trying to remember the formula. It is not hard math, but it is easy to get a number wrong when you do it by hand. We added a free tool that does it for you — COGS Calculator — right in your browser.

What it does

You type in your starting inventory, what you bought during the period, and your ending inventory, and it gives you the cost of goods sold. That is the whole point: a clear COGS number from the figures you already have, with no setup.

Nothing leaves your device

The whole thing runs inside your browser. Your numbers are not uploaded anywhere and nothing is saved on a server. When you close the tab, it is gone. So you can safely use your real figures without worrying about who sees them.

How to use it

  1. Open COGS Calculator.
  2. Enter your beginning inventory, purchases, and ending inventory.
  3. Read your cost of goods sold and copy it into your books.

It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
