Google Ads Character Counter — free online
You are writing a Google ad and the form keeps cutting your text off. A headline can only be 30 characters, a description only 90, and it is hard to guess when you have gone over. We added a free tool that does it — Google Ads Character Counter — right in your browser.
What it does
It counts characters for Google Ads Responsive Search Ads. You type your headlines and descriptions, and it shows the count for each field. The moment a field goes over its limit, it flags it for you, so you can trim it before you paste anything into Google Ads.
Nothing leaves your device
The whole thing runs in your browser. Your ad text is never uploaded and never saved anywhere. When you close the tab, it is gone. Nobody else sees what you are working on.
How to use it
- Open Google Ads Character Counter.
- Type or paste each headline and description into its field.
- Watch the counts, fix any field marked as over the limit, then copy your text into Google Ads.
It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
