ENV Converter — free online tool

You have your settings in a .env file, but the next tool wants them as JSON, or YAML, or a list of shell exports. Retyping each line and getting the quotes right is slow and easy to mess up. We added a free tool that does it for you — ENV Converter — right in your browser.

What it does

It converts config between .env, JSON, YAML and shell export, any direction you pick. You paste your config on one side, choose what to turn it into, and it gives you the clean result. It can also mask secret-looking values — anything whose name has SECRET, TOKEN, PASSWORD or KEY in it gets hidden as *** so you can share it safely.

Nothing leaves your device

Everything runs inside your browser. Your config is never uploaded to a server and nothing is saved anywhere. When you close the page, it's gone. So even a file full of real keys is safe to paste in.

How to use it

  1. Open ENV Converter and paste your config, then pick the format it's in now.
  2. Choose the format you want it in, and tick mask if you'd like the secrets hidden.
  3. Copy the result or download it as a ready-to-use file.

It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
