Depreciation Calculator — free online tool

You bought a machine, a laptop, a van — and now you need to spread its cost over the years it will last. Doing that by hand, year after year, is fiddly and easy to get wrong. We added a free tool that does it for you — Depreciation Calculator — right in your browser.

What it does

It calculates depreciation two ways: straight-line, where the cost drops by the same amount each year, and declining balance, where it drops faster at the start. You get a clear year-by-year schedule showing how the value falls over time.

Nothing leaves your device

The whole thing runs in your browser. The numbers you type stay on your screen — nothing is uploaded to a server, and nothing is saved anywhere. When you close the tab, it's gone.

How to use it

  1. Open Depreciation Calculator and enter the cost, the useful life, and any salvage value.
  2. Pick the method — straight-line or declining balance.
  3. Read the yearly schedule and copy the figures you need.

It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
