Contrast Checker — free online (WCAG AA/AAA)
You picked two nice colors for your site, but is the text actually easy to read? Light grey on white looks clean until someone squints at it on their phone in the sun. We added a free tool that checks this for you — Contrast Checker — right in your browser.
What it does
You give it a text color and a background color, and it tells you the contrast between them. It checks the result against the WCAG accessibility levels — AA and AAA — so you know whether real people, including those with weaker eyesight, can read your text comfortably. No guessing.
Nothing leaves your device
The whole thing runs inside your browser. Your colors are not uploaded anywhere and nothing is saved on a server. You can use it offline once the page has loaded, and when you close the tab, nothing stays behind.
How to use it
- Open Contrast Checker and enter your text color.
- Enter your background color.
- Read the result — it shows your contrast and whether it passes AA and AAA.
It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
