ASCII Table — free online reference
Sometimes you just need to know the code behind a character. Maybe a tab is breaking your file, maybe you need the number for a special symbol, or you're learning how text works under the hood. Looking that up shouldn't mean digging through old web pages. We added a free tool that does it — ASCII Table — right in your browser.
What it does
It's a searchable ASCII and character table covering every code from 0 to 255. For each character you see its decimal value, its hexadecimal value, and the character itself, all in one place. You can type in the search box to jump straight to the symbol, number, or name you're after instead of scrolling the whole list.
Nothing leaves your device
The table runs fully inside your browser. There's nothing to install, nothing to upload, and nothing is saved on a server. You can even use it with your connection off — it's just a page that works.
How to use it
- Open ASCII Table.
- Type a character, a number, or a name in the search box to filter the table.
- Read off the decimal, hex, and the character you need.
It's free with no limit. There are more small tools on the Apps page.
